Course Syllabus

Welcome to Visual Arts course, here you can read the summary of the course during the two months. The course includes activities and assignments and please keep that in mind there are deadline for all these, so missing the deadlines will end up with missing marks and low grades at the end. 

 

In order to pass this course, sketch book is one of the main materials that you need to provide. Pencils 2B, HB and 6B, kneaded eraser, coloured pencil, water colour and Acrylic paint.

Learning Goals:

In this unit student

Will be familiar with the Mural and Graffiti art.

Learn about visual art practically in the society.

Learn how to make bold letter and compose them in a frame and background

Will be introduced to theme and its roll on the viewer as well as its impact on the society

 

Success Criteria:

 

By the end of this unit

You should be able to identify the difference between Murals and Graffiti’s

You should be confident in drawing bold letter with different expression

You can compose a poster with the theme in foreground and background

You should know some of the famous Graffiti artists

 What is Graffiti? Have you ever seen any graffiti wall? How did you feel about it?

In this lesson you will learn about Graffiti art and you will create a piece of graffiti by designing your name.

Learning goals:

Uses values to suggest 3-D form

Describes the characteristic lines of a gesture drawing, and analyzes.

Uses quickly drawn, repeated lines to represent a figure in motion. 

Uses different values of line which suggest a feeling of three dimensional.

Assignment Contour and Blind contour

Watch the video and practice contour drawing in your sketchbook. Remember for blind contour the result is not important, it is a practice to sink the speed of your eyes and your hand.

About another type of line, which is called Contour line.

How to fearlessly draw figures,objects or face in Blind contour .

How to use artistic terminology in drawing with lines in details. 

How to synchronize the speed of hand and eye in Blind contour. 

How to start creative thinking rules

 

Success criteria    By the end of this unit you should be able to:

Identify gesture drawing from contour.

Be confident in slow pace contour drawing

Comfortably see and draw the details in contour drawing.

Easily change the values of line by changing the pressure of hands.

Move your hands and eyes synchronal while you do blind contour.

Speak about your drawings and use the correct terminologies.

Observe and speak up about your other classmate’s works.

In this unit you will learn more about contour drawing and practice how to draw something with just line and create a 3D look out of that.Contour drawing is totally opposite than gesture, keep practicing contour drawing in your sketch book and upload the result in the Moodle.
